BMW Airhead R100 R80 R65 R45 Hidden Battery Box

This is version 2 of the popular BMW Airhead battery box, the perfect solution for a hidden lithium battery setup.

As this product is handmade to order, once payment is made dispatch times will be around 2-3 days from the sale date.

Version 2 allows the battery straps to be passed through the box and around the battery allowing easier attachment and removal of the battery. (Straps not included, please read below).

Printed using PETG at 60% infill (which is very strong and heat resistant) and attach via the original airbox lower mounting bolt so no further attachment modifications are needed.

We recommend attaching the battery box using an M8 Ultra Thin Wafer Flat Head Low profile bolt (but any m8 bolt will work) with a small amount of loctite. I would also recommend using a thin layer of foam or neoprene sheet in the base of the box.

The battery box has a 6mm bolt thread for attaching an airbox replacement cover, 24mm or 25mm length bolt recommended.

*Please do not over tighten the box when mounting it as it could lead to cracking or deformation (please watch the video).

*Battery box can ONLY be used with an Aliant YLP14 battery or Antigravity AG801 (please select the correct option).

*When securing the outer battery box cover to the battery box you do not need to over tighten it, just tighten it enough so that it lines up with the starter motor cover and feels secure (please watch the video).

*I do not supply the battery straps, I recommend using VELCRO Self Gripping Ties 10mm, which you can cut to the desired length, 450mm is perfect.

*I have not tested this battery box on any other airhead model apart from a BMW R100RT and R80RT so fitment cannot be guaranteed, however most models use the same airbox fitment (please feel free to send me pictures to confirm).
